Greg Kerr was born in Johannesburg in 1949. He first showed in 1967 at the New Signatures, Pretoria. Since then he has had 25 solo exhibitions. He has always pursued dual careers as a professional painter and a teacher. He holds a PhD (Hermeneutics and Art Discourse, UGa 1985). He was last formally employed as Professor in Fine Arts at the University of Stellenbosch. He currently runs his own art school, Greg Kerr Fine Art
